Rollover Crash on Highway 168 in Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2023) — A fatal rollover accident happened on Highway 168, just south of Ashlan Avenue early Tuesday morning in Fresno.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 3:15 a.m. and resulted in both vehicles overturning, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
A 23-year-old man driving in a maroon Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on State Route 168 allegedly lost control of his car and rear-ended a white 4-door Nissan Altima. The impact caused both vehicles to rollover and the woman driving the Nissan suffered major injuries. Both motorists became trapped in their vehicles until firefighters arrived and extricated them.
Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital where she later died.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Dodge was also taken to a hospital due to major injuries from the collision, the report said.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash.
