
3 Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck in Cantua Creek
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (May 18, 2023) — A fatal Fresno County crash involving a semi-truck on Highway 33 and Manning Avenue left three men dead.
The deadly crash occurred around 5 a.m. on May 18th in the Cantua Creek area, just south of Mendota, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Car Versus Semi-Truck Crash in Fresno County
The CHP report stated the men were traveling together in a westbound car on Manning Avenue when it drove in front of a northbound semi-truck on State Route 33/South Derrick Avenue, ABC 30 News reports.
The two vehicles collided at the intersection and the truck pushed the car roughly 100 yards. Two of the men in the car died at the scene and the third was transported to a hospital where he later died.
Police are investigating whether or not the driver of the car ran a stop sign.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.
Investigators are piecing together what happened to determine fault for the Fresno County crash on Highway 33.
