Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 41, East Floral Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 21, 2022) — A fatal Fresno County crash happened on Highway 41 on Friday morning near East Floral Avenue.
At least two vehicles collided at the intersection about 8:27 a.m. on Jan. 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One person died and three others were seriously injured in the Fresno crash along Highway 41.
A driver in a black Chevrolet minivan with three passengers reportedly turned in front of a white Ford pickup truck occupied by two high school teens, police said.
Due to heavy fog in the area, police believe the driver in the minivan didn’t see an oncoming truck heading north on Highway 41.
The pickup truck driver reportedly crashed into the passengers’ side of the van killing one person in the van. Authorities pronounced the person dead at 8:45 a.m.
Meanwhile, three others inside suffered major injuries and paramedics transported them to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.
The teens in the pickup truck did not report any immediate injuries. The pickup suffered major front-end damage and the minivan had major damage on its passenger side.
Police closed down the northbound lanes of Highway 41 to investigate the crash and clear the roadway of debris and vehicles.
