Woman Killed in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99
FRESNO, Calif. (August 27, 2021) — A fatal Fresno pedestrian accident on Highway 99 happened Friday morning, just south of Shaw Avenue.
The collision happened about 4:15 a.m. on August 27th between the Ashlan and Shaw Avenue off-ramps, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A woman believed to be in her 40s died at the scene of the collision. Also, authorities say the crash involved a driver in a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

CHP officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash on State Route 99 in northwest Fresno.
The pickup truck was apparently northbound on the highway prior to the woman running across the road in front of it.
The pickup truck driver called 911 for help. Police and paramedics responded, but sadly the pedestrian died on scene.
Police closed down the left lane of northbound Highway 99, but it reopened by 5:45 a.m.
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the Fresno pedestrian accident on Highway 99.
