Fatal Fullerton Crash Involving OCTA Bus on Orangethorpe Avenue
3-Vehicle Collision at Orangethorpe and State College in Fullerton
FULLERTON, Calif. (April 14, 2025) — Two people in a Tesla died in a crash Saturday morning involving an OCTA bus and two other vehicles in Fullerton at East Orangethorpe Avenue and South State College Boulevard.
Five people aboard the bus suffered injuries in the collision at 6:45 a.m. on April 12th, according to the Orange County Register.
The Fullerton Police Department reported a driver in a white Tesla allegedly ran a red light and crashed into the passenger side of a gray 1991 Toyota pickup truck at the intersection. The Tesla went on to crash into the side of the Orange County Transportation Authority bus.
Paramedics responded and pronounced an adult female passenger in the Tesla dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Tesla was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Also, there were five bus passengers treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
There were no injuries reported in the pickup truck at this time.
Tow trucks removed the pickup truck with moderate side damage and the Tesla with major front-end damage. The bus also had moderate damage on its driver’s side.
