Pedestrian Killed in Collision in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (July 18, 2023) – A 35-year-old homeless man died in a pedestrian accident at Westminster Avenue and Clinton Street in Garden Grove.
The Garden Grove Police Department responded to the intersection after a vehicle reportedly struck a pedestrian, according to a report by MyNewsLA.
Police are investigating the collision and early indications are the pedestrian was crossing the road from the north curb towards the south curb. The man was reportedly outside of the crosswalk when the motorist struck him.
The driver stopped immediately after to call for help.
Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded and transported the pedestrian to a hospital where he later died.
Police questioned the motorist about what happened, but they do not suspect drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the collision, police said.
The case remains under investigation.
