Man, 70, Killed in New Year’s Day Crash; Driver Arrested

GLENDALE, Calif. (Jan. 2, 2024) – One man died and two other men were injured in a head-on crash involving a suspected DUI driver on Glenoaks Boulevard in Glendale.

The deadly two-vehicle crash occurred at around 8:24 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1st, according to KTLA 5 News.

Authorities say a 23-year-old man driving a black BMW sedan was traveling westbound on Glenoaks Boulevard when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle. The car crossed over into opposing traffic on the eastbound side of the roadway and collided with a silver Honda sedan.

A man in his 70s riding as a passenger in the Honda sustained major injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda who is also in his 70s suffered a broken leg and pelvis and was transported to a hospital for further treatment.

Additionally, the BMW driver was also treated for injuries at the hospital and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Finally, the Glendale crash on Glenoaks Boulevard remains under investigation.
