One Killed in Rollover Crash on 118 Freeway in Granada Hills Area
GRANADA HILLS, Calif. (March 1, 2022) – A fatal Granada Hills rollover crash happened Tuesday morning on the eastbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.
The crash occurred about 11:45 a.m. on March 1st, just west of the interchange with the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver in a gold Ford SUV lost control and the vehicle overturned eight times before it struck a 405 Freeway sign. The SUV lost a wheel that went on to hit another motorist in a gray Kia Sol.
At least one person died in the crash, but it’s unknown how many suffered injuries.
Several eastbound lanes were blocked following the collision. Police issued a SigAlert at 11:53 a.m. due to the freeway being blocked.
Finally, there is an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
