MORGAN HILL, California (January 17, 2017) – A fatal traffic collision occurred in the area of Hale Avenue and Willow Springs Road on Tuesday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
CHP reported that the accident took place shortly after 3 p.m.
In an article by Morgan Hill Times, CHP said a man was allegedly driving a Volkswagen south in the northbound lane of Hale Avenue when he collided head-on with a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a woman.
Witnesses claimed that the male motorist in the Volkswagen was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed, passing other vehicles and driving recklessly prior to the crash.
Both drivers died at the scene. Their names have not bene yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation.
