FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2023) — A fatal head-on crash happened Thursday morning on Highway 180 or Whitesbridge Avenue in the unincorporated Rolinda area of Fresno County.
Two vehicles collided on the eastbound side of State Route 180 at North Dickenson Avenue. It happened at around 6:43 a.m. on Dec. 21st, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a Ford F-450 truck and a Toyota Tacoma truck were involved. One of the trucks crashed underneath the other truck. Also, the white work truck collided with a pole on the side of the roadway, police said.
Several other motorists pulled over to help the victims and someone called 911 for help.
Paramedics responded to the scene, but unfortunately at least one person died before they could be taken to a hospital.
Tow trucks came to remove the two trucks and authorities stated the Toyota was in four pieces after the violent crash.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the fatal crash on Highway 180.
