Deadly Crash on State Route 65 in Wheatland
WHEATLAND, Calif. (Sept. 26, 2023) — A fatal head-on crash happened Tuesday morning on Highway 65 and Oakley Lane in Wheatland.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 6:08 a.m. on Sept. 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 73-year-old woman driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla reportedly veered into opposing traffic and collided head-on with a 22-year-old man driving a 2002 Ford Explorer, according to KCRA.
Paramedics responded and located the woman with major injuries and the man with moderate injuries. Sadly, the woman later died following the collision.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the crash on Highway 65 in Wheatland.
