Deadly, Head-on Crash on Lake Road
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (March 28, 2022) — A fatal crash on South Lake Road happened Monday afternoon in San Emidio, Kern County.
The two-vehicle crash occurred about 12:22 p.m. on March 28th, southwest of Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a silver Honda SUV and a white Chevrolet pickup truck collided when one of them veered into the path of the other one.
The crash happened roughly three miles east of Gardner Field Road and completely blocked the roadway, police said.
Paramedics responded and located one person lying on the right shoulder. Soon after their arrival, at least one person died following the collision.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault. The roadway reopened by 3:18 p.m.
