Deadly Wrong-Way Driver Collision in Santee
SANTEE, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2025) — Deven Anthony Stewart, 32, of Santee, died in a head-on crash Friday night at Mast Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue in Santee.
Two others were treated for minor injuries and taken to the hospital.
The Santee man was reportedly driving a black Honda on the wrong side of the road when he collided with a driver in a white Lexus SUV, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office reported the wrong way around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Mast Boulevard when he crashed into a white Lexus SUV.
Paramedics transported two people from the Lexus who were injured to the hospital.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if drugs or alcohol were involved.
Investigators are working on the case and are speaking with witnesses who saw the Santee man traveling at a high speed before the collision, the report said.
