Fiery Truck Accident on State Route 12 in San Joaquin County
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. (August 8, 2024) — A fatal head-on crash involving a semi-truck happened Thursday morning in Lodi on State Route Highway 12, near Peatland Road between Terminous and Lodi.
The semi-truck’s fuel tank burst into flames when it collided with a white Ford pickup truck at around 12:07 p.m. on August 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Both vehicles were blocking the roadway after the crash and the truck caught on fire. The westbound pickup truck reportedly crossed into the path of the eastbound truck, but there is no further information.
The pickup truck’s driver and a dog both died in the crash and the San Joaquin County Sheriff Coroner responded to the scene for the person. There may be others who were injured.
Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal Lodi crash on Highway 12.
