Fatal Head-on Crash on Highway 160, Sherman Island Cross Road
Sacramento Woman, 21, Killed; Two Injured in Noverd
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif., (Sept. 27, 2026) — Ajani Everhart, 21, of Sacramento, died and two people were injured in a head-on crash in Noverd early Sunday on State Route 160 near Sherman Island Cross Road.
The devastating crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 27th, north of Antioch, leaving all lanes blocked in both directions south of Three Mile Slough Bridge, the California Highway Patrol reported. The Sacramento woman was driving a black Kia Forte northbound on SR-160 when she crossed into oncoming southbound traffic and collided with a white Ford F-250 work truck pulling a utility trailer. Emergency services, including Solano County Fire and Sacramento County authorities, were dispatched to the scene promptly after the incident was reported.
Sadly, the collision resulted in one fatality, confirmed by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Two other individuals were reportedly transported to NorthBay Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Responding units from multiple agencies, including air support, were involved in managing the aftermath and diverting traffic.
The pickup truck had major front-end damage and the Kia went off the roadway into a ditch and also had major front-end damage.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) initiated road closures, and a chaplain was notified to provide support. As the investigation into this incident continues, CHP is actively seeking any witnesses who might provide further information regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash.
