Head-on Crash on SR-118 in Moorpark Area
MOORPARK, Calif. (Sept. 14, 2022) — A fatal crash between a semi-truck and a car on Los Angeles Avenue (SR-118) happened Wednesday afternoon in the Moorpark area.
The head-on crash occurred about 2:21 p.m. on Sept. 14th, just west of Grimes Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported one of the vehicles caught on fire and the white sedan had major front-end damage.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the scene to help those involved, but there are no further details. However, at least one person died at the scene of the collision.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
Meanwhile, the Ventura Sheriff’s Office assisted CHP officals with a hard closure on the eastbound side starting at Grimes Canyon Road. However, the westbound lanes remained open to traffic.
