LIVERMORE, Calif. (Feb. 27, 2023) – A fatal head-on crash occurred early Monday at Vasco Road and Camino Diablo near Livermore and Byron in the Contra Costa and Alameda county areas.
The California Highway Patrol reported a big rig and a sedan collided about 4:19 a.m. on Feb. 27th on the southbound Vasco Road near the intersection between Byron and Livermore.
CHP officials closed down Vasco Road in both directions and issued a Sig Alert due to severe traffic.
The Contra Costa County Fire Department responded to help those involved who were injured in the crash, but sadly at least one person died.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the head-on crash on Vasco Road.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed both the car and big rig truck from the roadway.
