One Dead, One Injured in Car Accident on Watt Avenue

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (May 1, 2024) — One person died in a head-on crash on Watt Avenue and El Camino Avenue in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento County.

The deadly crash occurred at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning between two vehicles when one of them allegedly drove through a red traffic light, according to KCRA News.

The California Highway Patrol reported the two vehicles collided and one of them continued traveling until it struck a light pole.

The driver in the car versus pole crash died and the other driver was treated for a minor injury at a hospital.

Authorities are working to determine which vehicle ran the red light.

CHP detectives closed down the intersection to conduct an investigation.
