Woman, 43, Victim in Head-on Crash on Highway 18
PHELAN, Calif. (July 23, 2018) — An unidentified man and a 43-year-old woman both died in a head-on crash Sunday night on Highway 18 and Wilson Ranch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 3-vehicle crash took place about 10:05 p.m. on July 22nd.
The man was driving a 2004 Lexus sedan eastbound on Highway 18 when it collided with a Hyundai Elantra sedan that was traveling westbound. The woman driving the Hyundai was killed in the collision as was the man driving the Lexus.
Traffic Accident Investigation
The CHP stated that the Lexus veered onto the dirt shoulder, re-entered traffic lanes and crashed head-on with the Hyundai. The Lexus reportedly spun around after the impact and was struck by a black 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck that had been driving behind the Hyundai. The 35-year-old Santa Clarita man driving the Lexus and his passengers were all hurt in the crash.
The occupants of the pickup truck were taken to Desert Valley Hospital and Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of moderate and minor injuries.
At this time, it’s apparent that the driver of the Lexus was responsible for this collision.
We offer our heartfelt prayers to the families of those who died in this horrible crash.
