 Fatal Helicopter Crash Colusa County FAA Investigating -- 4 Dead COLUSA COUNTY, Calif. (August 2, 2021) — A fatal Colusa County helicopter crash left four people dead Sunday in this remote area of Northern California.

The Colusa County Sheriff’s Department reported the collision about 1:15 p.m. on August 1st. The crash happened in a tomato field at a private ranch.

KXTV reported that four people died at the scene of the tragedy. However, the identities of the victims will not be released until relatives are notified of the accident.

Authorities report the Robinson R66 crashed due to unknown circumstances, but the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

The origination and destination of the helicopter is unknown at this time.

Investigators with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are working on the case.
