Stephanie Morales, 21, Killed; Two Injured in Hemet Collision
HEMET, Calif. (Sept. 10, 2024) — Stephanie Morales, 21, of San Jacinto, died and two people were injured in a head-on crash on Mountain Avenue, just west of Soboba Street in Hemet.
The 21-year-old motorist was driving a Kia Forte westbound when her car drifted into opposing traffic.
The car crashed into an eastbound Hyundai Ioniq around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8th, according to Hemet police and a report by The Patch.
The man driving the Hyundai attempted to avoid the Kia, but was unable to dodge the oncoming vehicle, according to the Hemet Police Department.
The Hemet Fire Department sent paramedics who transported Stephanie Morales to Hemet Global Medical Center where she died shortly after.
Investigators told reporters the young woman did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Hyundai and his passenger, both survived with moderate injuries and were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
