Man, 46, Killed in Hesperia Bicycle Accident on Main Street
HESPERIA, Calif. (Nov. 23, 2021) — A fatal Hesperia bicycle accident happened Sunday on Main Street when an SUV struck a 46-year-old man riding a bike.
Also, the collision happened about 7:34 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21st near G Avenue, according to the Daily Press and the Hesperia Sheriff’s Office.
The man riding the bicycle was traveling north across Main Street. He rode into the path of a Westbound 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. The SUV reportedly struck the victim at the Hesperia intersection, according to officials. Hesperia Sheriff’s deputies and San Bernardino County Fire personnel responded to a traffic collision.
Paramedics requested an air ambulance to transport the badly-injured man to a trauma center. The victim later died on Monday at the hospital due to major injuries.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the victim who died.
Meanwhile, investigators with the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team are heading up the traffic collision investigation.
Police do not suspect drugs and/or alcohol were factors in this crash, officials said.
