1 Killed, 2 Injured in Hesperia Collision at Yucca St. and Choiceana Ave
HESPERIA, Calif. (July 22, 2021) — A fatal Hesperia car accident happened Thursday morning at Yucca Street and Choiceana Avenue.
Craig Sale, 59, of Hesperia, died and two others suffered minor injuries following a 3-vehicle collision at the Hesperia intersection, according to the Victor Valley News Group.
Police report it happened at about 7:00 am, on July 22, 2021 in this residential area where the posted speed limit is 25 mph.
A 14-year-old male driving a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound on Yucca Street collided with a northbound 2008 Honda Civic and a southbound 2020 Kia Sportage driven by Craig Sale. The teenager allegedly ran through a posted stop sign at the Hesperia intersection. Next, the two other vehicles broadsided the Tahoe from opposite directions.
Meanwhile, San Bernardino County Firefighters arrived on scene where they located three injured people with Craig Sale trapped in a vehicle. Firefighters extricated the person trapped in the vehicle and rushed them by ambulance to a local hospital. Craig Sale later died at the hospital.
Authorities closed down the roadway temporarily due to the fatal Hesperia car accident investigation. Furthermore, the Hesperia Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is heading up the investigation.
