Victorville Man, 32, Killed in 2-Vehicle Collision
HESPERIA, Calif. (May 15, 2024) — Chad S. Cahill, 32, of Victorville, died Sunday in a head-on crash on Rock Springs Road, near Glendale Avenue in Hesperia.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the motorist who died in the crash around 3:11 p.m. on Mother’s Day, May 12th.
The driver was traveling westbound on Rock Springs Road in a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck when for unknown reasons he crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol and Victor Valley News Group.
The pickup truck collided with a 16-year-old Hesperia boy who was driving an eastbound 2023 Jeep Renegade.
The teenager in the Jeep Renegade attempted to avoid the crash, but was hit by the Toyota truck and its driver identified as Chad Cahill died at the scene. His family has a Gofundme page to raise money for his funeral services.
Meanwhile, the teenager and a passenger from the Jeep Renegade did not have serious injuries. The passenger had complaints of chest pain and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital.
