2 Killed in Crash on the I-215 Freeway in Highgrove
HIGHGROVE, Calif. (March 15, 2022) — A fatal Highgrove crash on the Interstate 215 Freeway happened early Tuesday morning at Center Street.
Two people were killed in the traffic collision at 12:41 a.m. on March 15th in Riverside County, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Paramedics and firefighters responded to the northbound Riverside (215) Freeway where they located the two-vehicle collision. Two people became trapped inside their vehicles, the Riverside County Fire Department said.
Sadly, both victims suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Both people were trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove them from the vehicles.
Investigators with the California Highway Patrol seek to determine the cause of the collision and liability.
Also, police closed down all lanes of the Interstate 215 Freeway for several hours.
