Child, 9, Killed in Sacramento Crash
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 21, 2023) — A fatal multi-vehicle car accident on Highway 50 left a nine-year-old boy dead and others injured near the 59th Street on-ramp.
The deadly crash occurred around 6:36 p.m. on July 20th, according to California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reports the collision occurred in the westbound lanes of State Route 50 and was blocking the 59th Street on-ramp.
Several vehicles were involved and one of the vehicles reportedly swerved to the right before it went over a guardrail and overturned on its roof, the report said.
Meanwhile, a child passenger. Abdelkarim Alhazaymeh, 9, of Elk Grove, died following the collision. He was later identified by the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.
Finally, investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the fatal accident on Highway 50.
