Fatal Truck Accident Highway 70 North of Oroville
OROVILLE, Calif. (July 9, 2021) — A fatal Highway 70 accident happened Friday morning at Table Mountain Boulevard, just north of Oroville, California.
The two-vehicle crash happened on Highway 70 and Table Mountain Blvd., according to California Highway Patrol. A driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck allegedly rear-ended a Ford F-350 pickup hauling pallets of lumber, the report said. The Chevrolet suffered major front-end damage in the collision.
Deadly Crash on Highway 70 in Butte County
Police called for Butte County Fire Department to send paramedics due to major injuries following the collision. Meanwhile, at least one person died after the crash. It’s unknown at this time how many people were hurt and police did not release names.
The CHP report stated lanes were blocked due to the Highway 70 crash.
The CHP is redirecting traffic around the crash until the roadway is cleared. Motorists are asked to avoid the area or expect delays.
