Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in East Hollywood
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2021) – Joshua Gray, 25, died early Friday after being struck on the 101 Freeway and dragged for roughly a mile to the Melrose Avenue off ramp.
The incident began around 4:30 a.m. when the California Highway Patrol received a 911 call about a pedestrian on the southbound side of the freeway in the 700 block of N. Ardmore Avenue in East Hollywood.
A driver struck the man near Santa Monica Boulevard, but his body was stuck underneath the car and the motorist kept driving.
Meanwhile, police are attempting to piece together evidence and locate the suspect who fled the scene.
Additionally, the victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner. Police do not know why the man was walking on the freeway.
Authorities believe the suspect who fled was driving a silver sedan that would now have front end damage.
Finally, the investigation into the hit-and-run crash is ongoing. Witnesses or anyone with information about the suspect, may call the California Highway Patrol, Central Los Angeles Area office at 213-744-2331.
