Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (July 29, 2021) — A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Millerton Road happened late Wednesday night near Winchell Cove Road in Fresno County.
The 30-year-old Fresno woman died in the 10:30 p.m. collision and the driver fled the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities are on the lookout for the driver who failed to stop. At this time, police have not released a description of the involved vehicle or the suspect.
The fatal collision happened shortly after calls to 911 reported a person walking in the middle of the roadway.
Millerton Road Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident
Responding police officers located the deceased woman following the hit-and-run crash.
Police are working to piece together what happened. However, it’s unknown why the woman was walking in the area. Officials will review surveillance videos from nearby businesses to assist them in solving the crime.
Investigators closed down Millerton Road for roughly two hours due to the fatal pedestrian accident.
