Pedestrian Killed in Hit-And-Run in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 3, 2024) – A hit-and-run fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Wednesday morning on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach.
A man was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle at around 5:25 a.m. on Jan. 3rd, according to the Long Beach Police Department. It happened at Pacific Coast Highway and Temple Avenue, police said. It is the second pedestrian fatality on PCH in the past week.
Paramedics responded and located the injured man, but sadly he died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the victim’s name and age were not released, pending notification of his next of kin.
The driver reportedly fled the scene without stopping to help the pedestrian, but there is no description available of the vehicle at this time.
Finally, police diverted traffic from the area to conduct an investigation into the Long Beach pedestrian accident.
