LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 30, 2022) – A fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident occurred early Thursday morning on Western Avenue, north of Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles.
The deadly crash happened about 12:50 a.m. on Dec. 29th in the No. 2 lane of Western Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim, identified as Antonio Lopez, 45, of Los Angeles, was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when an oncoming southbound vehicle hit him and continued driving from the scene.
Authorities are hoping the public can help them locate the suspect who fled following the pedestrian accident on Western Avenue.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to help the injured man, but sadly he died at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the man after notifying his next of kin.
