Driver, 42, Arrested Hours Later at Her Home
PITTSBURG, Calif. (Jan. 8, 2024) — A 36-year-old man was struck and killed Saturday morning in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Railroad Avenue.
The deadly crash occurred at around 1:35 a.m. on Jan. 6th, according to East Bay Times.
Police officers found the victim suffering major injuries in the 1200 block of Railroad Avenue and paramedics transported him to a hospital. However, the unidentified 36-year-old man died in transit.
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old woman behind the wheel of the vehicle, failed to stop and help the victim and fled the scene.
Detectives eventually located the vehicle and then the suspect at her home. She was arrested on hit-and-run charges, but formal charges are expected this week.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing. Witnesses should contact Det. Gutierrez at 925-252-4095.
