LOS ANGELES, California (Feb. 21, 2017) — A driver struck and killed a 60-year-old man walking across the street at Whittier Boulevard near Spence Street, according to a report by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The fatal pedestrian accident took place about midnight on Monday in the Boyle Heights community. The driver of a dark gray BMW was traveling eastbound on Whittier Boulevard when he or she struck the man as he walked in the middle of the roadway.
The victim was transported to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, but he later died of his injuries at the hospital.
Los Angeles Police Department is heading up the investigation into the crash and liability.
