
Hollister Man, 31, Killed in Crash Near Airport
HOLLISTER, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2023) – A 31-year-old Hollister man died in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday at Highway 156 and San Felipe Road in Hollister.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24th near the Hollister Municipal Airport, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police say the man was traveling southbound in a 2016 Honda Civic on San Felipe Road. Witnesses told authorities he failed to stop at a red traffic light and collided with a westbound 2001 Kia Spectra.
The Honda driver sustained major injuries and died at the scene, East Bay Times reports.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old Gonzales man driving the Spectra survived with only a cut on his left hand, police said.
The CHP is heading up an investigation into the Hollister crash on Highway 156. Authorities did not mention if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
