Man, 68, Killed, 3 Hurt in 2-Vehicle Crash
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (July 6, 2023) — A fatal Huntington Beach car accident happened Wednesday afternoon at Atlanta Avenue and Bushard Street.
A 68-year-old Huntington Beach man died and three others were injured in the two-vehicle collision at the Huntington Beach intersection, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on July 5th.
Police investigating the crash reported the man was traveling southbound on Bushard Street in a silver Toyota Corolla, police said. The driver allegedly drove through a red light and collided with an eastbound gray Mercedes-Benz GLC. The second car had a green light at the time of the crash as it drove along Atlanta Avenue.
Paramedics responded and rushed the 68-year-old man to a hospital, but he later died the same day.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Yorba Linda man and his two passengers from the Mercedes, were treated for minor injuries at the hospital and released.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but police do not suspect alcohol and or drugs were a factor in the collision.
The Huntington Beach Police Department is handling the investigation.
