 Fatal Huntington Beach Car Accident Magnolia Street, Garfield Avenue

Woman, 93, Killed at Huntington Beach Intersection

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (May 12, 2023) — A 93-year-old woman died in a fatal Huntington Beach car accident Thursday night at Magnolia Street and Garfield Avenue.

The two-vehicle crash occurred about 4:40 p.m. on May 11th, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The elderly woman was driving a Buick Riviera northbound on Magnolia Street, MyNewsLA reported. She reportedly made a left-hand turn towards Garfield Avenue in front of a southbound Jeep Wrangler. The two vehicles collided and she was severely injured, police said.

Paramedics responded and rushed the woman to a hospital where she later died.

Meanwhile, the 48-year-old Huntington Beach man driving the Jeep was uninjured. He stopped his vehicle and cooperated with authorities at the scene.

Police are investigating the collision, but do not suspect alcohol was a factor.
