3-Vehicle Crash on I-8 Freeway in Imperial County
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (April 23, 2021) — A fatal Imperial County car accident happened Friday morning on the Interstate 8 Freeway, just west of Gordons Well Imperial Sand Dunes.
Additionally, the 3-vehicle crash happened about 8:15 a.m. on April 23rd, according to the California Highway Patrol. It’s unknown what led up to the collision, but the investigation is underway.
Multi-Vehicle Imperial County Accident
The CHP stated the drivers of a tan 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck, a white 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and two other vehicles were involved. The pickup blocked the No. 1 lane following the Imperial County car accident. CHP officers were at the scene with paramedics due to the severity of the crash.
Meanwhile, at least one person died in the crash and others suffered injuries. The person who died will be identified at a later time.
Also, the Ford pickup truck had extensive, front-end damage while the Dodge pickup had extensive rollover damage.
Finally, investigators are working to determine the cause of the Imperial County car accident as well as liability.
