Pedestrian Killed in Crash on I-8 Freeway near Brock Research Center Road
IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2021) — A fatal Imperial County pedestrian accident happened early Wednesday morning on the Interstate 8 Freeway, just east of Calexico.
The pedestrian is described as a 32-year-old woman from the Mexican state of Guerrero, according to a news report.
Additionally, a 37-year-old El Centro man driving a 2006 Mazda struck the woman about 5:05 a.m. on Sept. 29th near the Brock Research Center Road on ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Also, the CHP reported the Imperial County pedestrian accident on its website at 5:54 a.m. and sent firefighters and paramedics to the scene. Sadly, the woman died on scene.
Additionally, the United States Border Patrol provided details about the deadly crash to the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
Finally, the San Diego Medical Examiner will identified the woman after notifying family members about her death.
Investigators seek to determine fault for the collision.
