Head-on Crash Involving Tow Truck on Hwy 108
Tuolumne County, Calif. (March 16, 2023) — A tow truck hauling a vehicle collided head-on with another motorist Thursday morning on Highway 108 near Keystone Ranch, in Jamestown.
The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of State Route 108 about 9:14 a.m. on March 16th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The tow truck and a maroon Honda CRV were involved and one of the vehicles caught on fire.
Paramedics with the Tuolumne County Fire Department responded to help those hurt in the crash. The tow truck driver survived the crash, but it appears the second motorist in the Honda died following the wreck, according to the CHP report.
Meanwhile, investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
