LAKEVILLE, Calif. (Aug. 2, 2023) — One person died in a multi-vehicle Lakeville crash on Highway 116 also known as Stage Gulch Road in Sonoma County.
The four-vehicle collision occurred around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1st on state Route 116 in Sonoma County, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch report.
Police reported three sedans were heading westbound on Highway 116 and a 39-year-old Crockett man was driving a moving truck eastbound prior to the collision just southeast of Petaluma.
The moving truck reportedly crossed over the double yellow lines and collided with the three oncoming vehicles. A 67-year-old Sebastopol woman was driving the Lexus, a 63-year-old Sebastopol man was driving a Chevrolet Camaro and a 43-year-old Rio Vista woman was driving the Jeep SUV.
Authorities are working to determine what led up to the deadly collision between the four motorists.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and treated two people for moderate to minor injuries and a third person who was driving the Camaro suffered fatal injuries at the scene, the CHP said.
There are no further details at this time. Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the fatal Lakeville crash on Highway 116.
