Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle and Killed in Lancaster Area
LANCASTER, Calif. (August 21, 2023) – A fatal Lancaster bicycle accident happened last Monday night on Avenue L, near 42nd Street West.
A driver struck the unidentified man riding a bicycle around 10:50 p.m. on Monday, August 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported Dion Troupe II, 24, of Lancaster, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and traveling eastbound on Avenue L. Meanwhile, the bicyclist was traveling in the same direction on Avenue L. For unknown reasons, the car struck the bicycle rider and the man riding it was thrown off the bike.
The Camaro’s driver stopped and cooperated with authorities. There were no arrests made.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured cyclist to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Lancaster accident on Avenue L.
