One Killed in Suspected DUI Car Accident
LANCASTER, Calif. (June 7, 2023) – A driver was arrested Tuesday after a fatal Lancaster crash on Avenue L at 20th Street West.
The 3-vehicle collision left one man dead and a woman critically injured at the Lancaster intersection, according to MyNewsLA.
Furthermore, police arrested one of the drivers on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI after he allegedly crashed into the two other vehicles around 9 p.m. on June 6th, according to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.
The suspect’s Ram 3500 pickup truck struck the back of a gray Subaru Forester that was stopped at the intersection. The impact caused the Subaru to crash into the back of a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was also stopped. The Subaru became crushed between the two pickup trucks.
A man riding as a passenger in the Subaru suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The female driver of the Subaru was transported to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
Meanwhile, the driver and at least two passengers from the Chevrolet pickup truck were treated for minor injuries.
Police determined the driver from the Ram 3500 was driving under the influence and placed him under arrest following the deadly crash.
