Woman Arrested DUI, Vehicular Manslaughter After Fatal Collision
LANCASTER, Calif. (Oct. 23, 2023) – A fatal crash happened in Lancaster on Saturday night at Sierra Highway and Avenue L-8.
The deadly collision occurred at around 11:57 p.m. on Oct. 21st between a car and a pickup truck, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster station.
A woman driving a Chrysler 200 northbound on Sierra Highway reportedly rear-ended a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck occupied by two men, the Antelope Valley Times said. It happened at around 11:57 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21st.
Both the driver and passenger from the Toyota were critically injured and transported to a hospital, but the passenger later died from his injuries.
The woman from the Chrysler was unharmed, but police suspected she was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI for allegedly causing the fatal crash.
The case remains under investigation.
