Deadly 3-Vehicle Lancaster Collision
LANCASTER, Calif. (May 4, 2022) – A fatal Lancaster crash at Sierra Highway and Avenue B happened last night, just north of Edwards Air Force Base.
A 29-year-old Inglewood man died and at least three others were injured in the three-vehicle collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Clifton Vial, 62; Vanessa Aguilar, 28, both of Rosamond, and her passenger, a 39-year-old Rosamond woman, all suffered moderate injuries in the collision.
The crash occurred at 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd at the Lancaster intersection, police said.

Clifton Vial was driving southbound on Sierra Highway in a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner SUV. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Inglewood man was driving a Nissan northbound on Sierra Highway. The Nissan attempted to pass a northbound 2008 Honda Pilot driven by Vanessa Aguilar. Instead, the Nissan collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota SUV. The Toyota overturned and collided with the Honda occupied by the two women.
Meanwhile, the Nissan Sentra spun out of control, overturned and left its driver with major injuries.
CHP officers and paramedics responded to the scene where they located the victims, police said.
Sadly, the man driving the Nissan died at the scene of the accident. Meanwhile, paramedics transported at least three others to hospitals with moderate to major injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said. Anyone with information can call the Antelope Valley CHP Office at 661-948-8541.
