Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run in Lancaster
LANCASTER, Calif. (April 8, 2025) – A fatal Lancaster pedestrian accident involving two drivers happened late Monday night at Avenue J and Hanstead Avenue.
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the collision at 11:30 p.m. on April 7th and searching for one of the drivers who struck the victim and fled the scene.
The second driver struck the pedestrian already down in the roadway, but that motorist stopped.
The Los Angeles County Sheriffs’ Department’s Lancaster Station determined the pedestrian was walking northbound across Avenue J. The victim was not in a marked crosswalk when a westbound sedan struck him and failed to stop.
Next, a driver in a westbound Toyota Camry also struck the pedestrian.
Someone called 911 for help and the Los Angeles County Fire Department sent paramedics who pronounced the victim dead at the scene, police said.
Investigators are working to locate the suspect and the driver of the Toyota Camry was on scene to help.
It is not known if speed, alcohol and or drugs were factors in the crash, officials said.
