Motorcyclist Killed in Car Accident at Livermore Intersection
LIVERMORE, Calif. (Oct. 18, 2023) — A fatal motorcycle accident happened Tuesday afternoon at North Mines Road and Shirley Way in Livermore.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 4:50 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16th, according to East Bay Times.
A driver in a Honda CR-V SUV was heading southbound on North Mines Road and the motorcycle rider was traveling northbound on the same roadway, police said.
The driver in the Honda reportedly made a left-hand turn from N. Mines Road onto Shirley Way. The SUV turned into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist and the two vehicles collided.
The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Authorities did not release his name, but he is in his 30s and is from Livermore.
Investigators say the SUV driver didn’t see the bike before making the turn. However, police are working on the case to determine fault.
