
Bicycle Rider Killed in Long Beach Crash
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 30, 2023) – A driver in a pickup truck struck and killed a man riding a bicycle Saturday afternoon on Pacific Place in Long Beach.
The traffic accident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 28th, according to KFI News.
The 2021 Jeep Gladiator was heading northbound on Pacific Place, just north of Wardlow Road when a bicycle rider crossed eastbound in front of the vehicle, the Long Beach Police Department said.
That’s when the bicyclist crashed into the side of the pickup truck, KFI reports.
The 43-year-old Long Beach resident driving the truck stopped and attempted to save the life of the gravely injured bicyclist.
Paramedics took over and rushed the victim to a hospital, but unfortunately he died shortly afterwards.
Meanwhile, the driver cooperated with the investigation, however, there were no criminal charges filed against the driver.
Finally, Long Beach police are investigating the cause of the crash and liability. Witnesses may call them at 562-570-7355.
