Woman Killed in Long Beach Freeway Crash

 Fatal Long Beach Crash 710 Freeway, 405 Freeway (April 18)LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 18, 2022) –  A fatal Long Beach crash on the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway happened Monday morning at the transition to the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway.

A woman was killed in the collision reported at 1:08 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

It’s unknown what led up to the two-vehicle collision at this time. Paramedics responded, however, the woman suffered fatal injuries.

Police say the woman who died was driving a blue Toyota sedan. Authorities towed the second vehicle from the scene for evidence.

Sadly, the woman in the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.

The CHP issued a SigAlert about 2:30 a.m. and closed down the transition road. However, traffic on both freeways continued moving and the transition road reopened at 4:46 a.m.

Investigators continue to work on the cause of the crash and liability.
