Long Beach Police Search for Hit-And-Run Motorist

 Fatal Long Beach Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident PCH, Temple AvenueLONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2022) –  A fatal Long Beach hit-and-run crash occurred Thursday night on Pacific Coast Highway, just west of Temple Avenue.

The deadly crash occurred about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13th, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The driver in a black Chevrolet SUV struck an adult male pedestrian in the westbound lanes of PCH and fled the scene of the collision, police said. The pedestrian was walking across PCH in a southeastern direction and was apparently outside of a crosswalk, police said.

Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to a hospital, but he later died. Authorities did not release the man’s name, but will release it on the LA County Coroner website after notifying family members.

Witnesses are asked to call detectives at 562-570-7355, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
