Woman Killed in Long Beach Hit-And-Run, Suspect Sought
LONG BEACH, Calif. (May 20, 2020) – Stacey Finley, 42, who is believed to be homeless, was killed Wednesday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Woodruff Avenue and Willow Street in Long Beach.
Now police are seeking the public’s help to locate the suspect who fled the scene of the fatal collision.
The woman was struck by a motorist about t 1:40 a.m. at the Long Beach intersection. She suffered major injuries and died at the scene, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Investigators have learned that the pedestrian was walking in the southbound lanes of Woodruff Avenue when she was struck from behind by a driver traveling in the same direction.
Police have not yet released a description of the vehicle or the motorist. Witnesses are urged to call 562-570-7355, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
